Rob Schroder is the Founder and CEO of SteerBridge, a retired U.S. Marine Corps Harrier pilot, and a lifelong advocate for Veterans, military families, and the communities shaped by service. His career has been defined by leadership, operational excellence, and a continued commitment to helping those who served carry their experience, discipline, and sense of mission into new areas of impact.

Rob’s connection to the Harrier community runs deep. During his time in the operational fleet, he served with VMA-214 and VMA-311, two squadrons with proud histories and lasting ties to the AV-8B Harrier legacy. He later returned to VMA-214 to command the famed “Blacksheep” squadron from 2009 to 2011. That experience remains central to his story, reflecting not only his time as a Harrier pilot, but also his respect for the Marines, maintainers, families, and squadron communities that carried the Harrier mission forward across generations.

Throughout his Marine Corps career, Rob developed a broad foundation in military operations, congressional affairs, and defense acquisitions. Those experiences gave him a unique perspective on how strategy, policy, resources, and execution come together to support the warfighter. After retiring from the Marine Corps, Rob continued serving the defense and Veteran communities through industry leadership and federal contracting.

As Founder and CEO of SteerBridge, Rob built the company around the principle of “Growth by Delivery.” For Rob, that idea is more than a business slogan. It reflects a belief that trust is earned through performance, that strong teams are built through shared purpose, and that Veterans bring unmatched value to complex national missions. Under his leadership, SteerBridge has grown into a company focused on solving hard problems across government through technology, data, digital modernization, and mission-focused delivery.

Beyond SteerBridge, Rob has remained active in organizations that support Marines, Veterans, military families, and future leaders. He has served as Finance Chairman for the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, as a board member for the American Armed Forces Mutual Aid Association, and as an advisor to USAA.

Rob’s academic background reflects the same drive for excellence that has shaped his professional life. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, master’s degrees from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and Marine Corps University, and an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. He also earned a Global Supply Chain Management Certificate from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

A husband, father, Marine, business leader, and mentor, Rob lives in Northern Virginia with his wife, Debbie, and their four children. Whether supporting Veterans, leading SteerBridge, or staying connected to the Harrier community, Rob continues to carry forward the values that defined his time in uniform: service, accountability, loyalty, and a deep respect for the people who make the mission possible.
