Michael “Mike” Hile retired from Leidos in 2025 as Vice President of the Airborne Sensors and Analytics Division.  While with Leidos Mike was responsible for $100+M annual revenue and a team of 200+ engineers that spanned the globe from Saudia Arabia to multiple CONUS locations to South Korea and Japan. The Team conducted full life-cycle engineering for the development and integration of weapon systems, sensors, and advanced aerial and terrestrial ISR Mission Equipment Packages (MEP) and Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) technologies into manned/unmanned airborne platforms and Command and Control (C2) centers with their associated mission networks, providing fusion of operations with ISR.

Prior to Leidos Mike worked at Lockheed Martin as the Engineering Program Manager responsible for the Air and Space Operations Center Weapon System Integrator (AOC WSI) program.  He oversaw development of 4 major weapon system upgrades and fielding to 27 sites worldwide, as well as the cross-team execution of integration, fielding, and sustainment efforts.

Prior to Lockheed Martin Mike worked at NORAD-USNORTHCOM J5, Plans and Forces at Peterson Air Force Base.  In 2005 he was assigned the project lead for integration of newly acquired surface-to-air missile system and advanced sensors around Washington, DC into NORAD’s command and control system for the 2005 presidential inauguration.  Mike was also the lead planner for NORAD’s Aerospace Warning and Control, and Maritime Warning Concept of Operations Plan.

Mike graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1984 and served in the United States Marine Corps as an AV-8B Harrier pilot until 2004 amassing 2500 hours.  He finished his Marine career as the Commanding Officer of the Marine Attack Squadron 311.  While with 311 he was responsible for 18 aircraft operating from two amphibious assault aircraft carries, maintaining the highest shipboard sortie completion rates and aircraft readiness rates within the Harrier community in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I.  As the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Requirements Officer, HQMC Aviation Requirements at the Pentagon Mike was handpicked to serve as the Subject Matter Expert and primary advisor to the Deputy Commandant of the Marine Corps for Aviation on the JSF program.  He helped author the platform requirements and employment concepts that lead to the fielding of the F-35B.  Mike is a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Deny Flight/Deliberate Force, and Southern Watch/Iraqi Freedom.  Awards include Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (2 Awards), and Air Medal (7 Strike Awards). Mike now lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, Cornelia, where they enjoy hiking, skiing, golfing, traveling and time with family.  Life is good.  😊
